An excellent prog/tech-thrash album by this very underrated Russian band. This is their only full length and honestly this is all anybody should need to listen to anyway. What they achieved on this is very hard to reach no matter how many prog-thrash albums you know or can think of. For fans of Coroner, Believer, Watchtower, Artillery, Mekong Delta and the recent Vektor, but this one goes beyond all of the above somehow.

This is without a doubt Nevermore's best entry to date. With this the band scored what could easily be one of the best albums of the decade. Blistering guitars, heavy drums and epic vocals and lyrics. Progressive/melodic music doesn't get any better than this. The title track alone is probably as epic as metal can ever get.

I was pleasantly surprised with Goatwhore's new album. Naturally, I was expecting another A Haunting Curse, but this album has a heavier, thrashier feel to it. As far as lyrics go, it's still the same Goatwhore we've all come to love (or not). Overall, Carving Out The Eyes Of God is an improvement from Goatwhore's last album.

Bloodbath (Ser) - Toxic Death [EP] (1990)

Since Reda's uploading all this thrash I thought I'd contribute a bit. I usually don't like thrash unless it's raw/aggressive as fuck and heavier than a good chunk of death metal. This Bloodbath (not to be confused with the borderline shitty one from Sweden) put out this solid EP before going really meh and boring with their next release Traumatic Memories. What you'll find here are aggressive thrash riffs much like early Sepultura and Slayer, raspy death metal vocals and an awesome raw production. If you're in the same boat as me (only liking the most raw and aggressive thrash) pick this up.

Rammer manage to pull off an awesome sound despite the production on this debut. Thrashy, groovy, melodic but not too generic, a purely balanced sound that doesn't get boring or go over the top. The vocals sound something like later Schmier/Angelripper. This is very solid, give it a listen.

Overrated? No way, this remains one of the greatest thrash bands of all times, and this was their peak. Horrorscope isn't the lightning fast kind of thrash, the songs have a lot of different tempos and beats (especially towards the middle, tracks 5-8), the riffs just keep coming, and almost every song has a little part that screams "PLAY THAT AGAIN". And unlike a lot of other typical thrash metal vocalists, Blitz can actually sing, and it fits the music perfectly. The first time I listened to this I thought thrash couldn't get any better. Overkill put this out after 4 great full lengths, all of which should be part of everybody's thrash collection.

Wargasm from Boston Massachusetts is another amazing band that somehow goes completely unnoticed in today's thrash scene. In fact, I wonder how this album in particular didn't outsell Reign in Blood or Master of Puppets; because honestly, Wargasm fucking own both Slayer and Metallica (imo). This album I recommend for all thrash lovers who like sheer power and catchiness in their thrash. One of the most underrated albums in thrash history. This is guaranteed to blow your mind.

This album is without a doubt one of the meanest US thrash records that came out in the late 80's. Loads of fast riffs and faster leads/solos, and the vocals are like something between Sadus and Coroner. Solid, sincere thrash yet very underrated. Do you like thrash? Tommy T. Baron will blow your fucking mind with his technical thrash riffs and melodic prog leads. Unlike most bands where the lead guitar is inactive during verses, every song has a lot of little solos thrown in everywhere. These consistent Swiss thrash masters never failed to amaze me. And like their first two albums, this third one will keep you wanting more and more...For all thrash fans.
