This is without a doubt Nevermore's best entry to date. With this the band scored what could easily be one of the best albums of the decade. Blistering guitars, heavy drums and epic vocals and lyrics. Progressive/melodic music doesn't get any better than this. The title track alone is probably as epic as metal can ever get.

This album is rated their best on metal-archives, and somehow sounds the heaviest of all. Or maybe it's just because it's the only album that makes my speakers make fart sounds, that's how heavy it is. An excellent listen, especially for those not familiar with this band.

Their second full length remains to this day one of their best records, and to think this came out 14 years ago...I honestly can't think of that many bands that played at this level at the time. This will kick your ass!

The greatness continues, with their 2003 album this band finally started getting recognized. This was one of their main launchers before they got on gigantour, and again Jeff Loomis and Warrel Dane make us realize that no other duo can pull this off and still be such a great american metal act.

This is the third album from this amazing, underrated California heavy metal band. These guys remind me of the great Iron Maiden, with a little punk/Municipal Waste, and a little doom/Black Sabbath in the mix. Their two previous albums are awesomely solid, but this sets the bar even higher for this genre. Metal like this is very rare nowadays.

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As you can clearly see, I absolutely love the Waste. Here's their latest effort, Massive Aggressive. It's a bit slower and the lyrics are a bit more 'mature' (they stopped singing about zombies and beer), but it still kicks ass.

This band redefined sludge and stoner metal for me. This is an instant classic that will grab you by the nuts and won't let go until you hear the constant trippy bass line in that last track then will make you play it over and over. These are the bassist and drummer that joined The Melvins, but don't be mistaken, Big Business have been around before they joined the other band and I personally prefer them to The Melvins. You might find out why, only if you listen.

After two decades, still some of the most headbangable Florida death metal. This album is true to the genre. If you're a fan of Obituary, this album is a must.

Minsk - With Echoes In The Movement Of Stone [2009]

This was a pretty spectacular album. Minsk play doom metal with hints of stoner and sludge, with bands such as Neurosis being an obvious influence. Minsk songs seems to build and progress into something monumental, with this album in my opinion achieving this to the highest extent compared to their two previous works.

1.	Three Moons	06:07
2.	The Shore of Transcendence	09:59
3.	Almitra's Premonition	10:06
4.	Means to An End	05:59
5.	Crescent Mirror	08:57
6.	Pisgah	04:06
7.	Consumed By Horizons of Fire	06:31
8.	Requiem: From Substance to Silence	11:18

Goatwhore - Carving Out The Eyes Of God (2009)

1) Apocalyptic Havoc
2) The All-Destroying
3) Carving Out The Eyes Of God
4) Shadow Of A Rising Knife
5) Provoking The Ritual Of Death
6) In Legions, I Am Wars Of Wrath
7) Reckoning Of The Soul Made Godless
8) This Passing Into The Power Of Demons
9) Razor Flesh Devoured
10) To Mourn And Forever Wander Through Forgotten Doorways

I was pleasantly surprised with Goatwhore's new album. Naturally, I was expecting another A Haunting Curse, but this album has a heavier, thrashier feel to it. As far as lyrics go, it's still the same Goatwhore we've all come to love (or not). Overall, Carving Out The Eyes Of God is an improvement from Goatwhore's last album.

Harvestman - In a Dark Tongue (2009)

1) World Ash
2) Karlsteine
3) Birch-Wood Bower
4) By Wind and Sun
5) Music of the Dark Torrent
6) Eibhli Ghail Chiuin Ni Chearbhail
7) Headless Staves of Poets
8) The Hawk of Achill
9) Carved in Aspen
10) Light Cycle
11) In a Dark Tongue
12) Centre of the World

It should be known that there is no such thing as a bad Neurosis side project. Steve Von Till's work under the name Harvestman is strong evidence. In a Dark Tongue, Harvestman's sophomore effort, features a cross between Neurosis' brand of sludge and northwestern US folk metal.

Mastodon - Crack the Skye (2009)

1) Oblivion
2) Divinations
3) Quintessence
4) The Czar: Usurper/Escape/Martyr/Spiral
5) Ghost of Karelia
6) Crack the Skye
7) The Last Baron

You know how every year there's that one mainstream album that kicks ass? Well this year, that album is Crack the Skye. Instead of the usual obnoxious groove metal, Mastodon opted for a sludgier and more psychedelic sound on this album. Scott Kelly of Neurosis appears on the title track, performing guest vocals.

Sunn O))) - Monoliths & Dimensions (2009)

As many already know, Sunn O))) are an infamous Drone Doom band that, in my opinion, are misunderstood by many. About all that needs to be said is that if you get their music, it's some of the most compelling, dark and evil shit out there. For newcomers to this band or for any who are going to pass this up, I beg you to at least listen to "Big Church" by far my favorite on here.

Track Listing:

1.	Aghartha	17:34
2.	Big Church (Megszentségteleníthetetlenségeskedéseitekért)	09:43
