Bloody Panda - Summon [2009]

Bloody Panda... never had heard of them and had it not been for sake of lucky curiosity I would have never checked them out. After all, it's a pretty dumb name for such an incredible band. "Summon" is some kind of a monumental release, capturing everything that great doom metal should: crushing atmosphere and epic booming riffs. Yep, this is an album that you can really DOOM to, with influences ranging from the hypnotic aesthetics and drone of Sunn O))), to the epic use of organs found in Skepticism, to the intense tormenting atmosphere of Moss. I expect this band to be a big name in extreme doom very soon.

Sunn O))) - Monoliths & Dimensions (2009)

As many already know, Sunn O))) are an infamous Drone Doom band that, in my opinion, are misunderstood by many. About all that needs to be said is that if you get their music, it's some of the most compelling, dark and evil shit out there. For newcomers to this band or for any who are going to pass this up, I beg you to at least listen to "Big Church" by far my favorite on here.

Khanate - Clean Hands Go Foul (2009)

"Hell... is every GOD DAMN THING"

Khanate are a supergroup (of which this is their final album) that play extreme drone doom metal (much more drone now than on their debut) that very much intends to express the experience of torturous misery not only in the atmospheric sense but also lyrically. By the time you're done listening to the 32 minute closure on this album and you've successfully pieced together the scattered remains of your shattered existence, nothing more will ring truer than the above quote.
