Ceremonial Castings [US] - Salem 1692 (2008) *Melodic Black Metal

This is one of the catchier albums I've listened to from this year; these guys play black metal, just melodic enough to suck in those that aren't quite acquainted with the genre. The melodic tremelo picking kinda reminds me of Amon Amarth's "Once Sent In The Golden Hall" so if you liked that one, pick this shit up!

Acid Witch - Witchtanic Hellucinations (2008)

Mmmmm.....what we have here is a bubblin' cauldron full of thick, meaty death sprinkled with fuzzed-out, heavy-as-fuck doom, swimming in a gravy laced with 70's psychedelic insanity.
Add to this mix a whopping side-order of old-school horror straight outta the classic EC comics era and you've got one of the most entertaining releases of 2008.
